FAQS
Getting Started
-
You don’t have to know yet — most families don’t!
During the connection call, we talk through communication goals, sensory preferences, and interests. From there, we recommend Music, Storymaking, Adventures, or a blend based on what feels most supportive.
-
Your first session functions as a gentle trial. We explore what resonates, check for comfort and engagement, and adjust in real time. There’s no commitment until you feel confident moving forward.
-
Kids, teens, and adults. Sessions are always individualized — not age-based — so we build from where the person is, not how old they are.
Sessions & Approach
-
No two sessions look the same. We follow the individual’s interests, sensory profile, and communication style. Sessions might include music, drawing, character creation, movement, or collaborative storytelling. The through-line is always attunement, creativity, and connection.
-
While Attune Arts is an SLP-led, neurodivergent-affirming, creative communication practice, this is NOT therapy.
Some families use sessions to support communication, regulation, or social engagement; others use them to expand creative expression.
We can also collaborate with your existing therapists or school teams if helpful, but we are NOT a medical clinic.
-
Absolutely. We welcome all communication styles — spoken, gestural, AAC, art-based, movement-based, and everything in between.
-
Every session is tailored for comfort. We pace gently, adjust volume and lighting, offer quiet alternatives, and follow the individual’s lead. Nothing is forced, rushed, or overwhelming.
-
Yes. Some clients love music only, others want a mix (e.g., comics + improv storytelling, or music + adventures). We build a unique pathway for each person.
-
Absolutely! Sometimes shared creativity boosts connection; sometimes a quieter space helps focus. We’ll talk through your family’s needs and choose the setup that works best.

Parent Involvement
-
Totally up to you.
Some families stay in the room, some wait outside, and some join for the last few minutes. We’ll choose a rhythm that supports comfort, trust, and regulation.

Updates happen organically. We’ll chat briefly after sessions or send a short message when something is worth noting. No reports, no paperwork — just clear, ongoing communication.
